㈜프레시오스 회사의 한 관계자는 "천연 재료인 황마를 활용하여 염전을 운영해 바람과 햇볕만으로 운영되는 기존 평면 염전에 비해 ‘스마트 입체 염전 시스템’은 생산 효율이 매우 높다“면서 ”단위 면적당 소금을 기존방식보다 10~20배 더 생산한다. 또한 날씨나 공간의 제약을 받지 않고 소금을 생산할 수 있으며, 이 소금은 미네랄이 풍부하고 맛이 좋다"고 강조했다.

㈜프레시오스는 소금을 생산하고 남은 미네랄(간수)을 별도의 클린룸 처리과정을 통해 유기물과 불순물을 제거한 농축수도 만든다. 여기에서 리튬(Li), 마그네슘(Mg), 스트론튬(Sr) 등 해수자원의 순차적 추출을 준비 중이란다. 900ppm 수준으로의 고농축 기술은 이를 현실화하는 기본 기술이라는 것.
