(사)생명존엄재단에서 주최한 출산장려캠페인 행사가 (사)한국출산장려협회 박희준 협회장과 (사)대한기자협회 김필용 이사장 및 관계자 다수가 참석한 가운데 지난달 30일 열렸다.
이날 행사는 토론회 형식으로 개최되었으며, 박희준 한국출산장려협회장은 출산율 저하가 곧 대한민국이 사라지는 결과를 초래하게 될 것이란 염려가 현실화 되어가고 있다면서 저출산 대책을 시급히 마련해야 한다고 말했다.
특히, 저출산만큼이나 위험한 것은 바로 낙태라고 단정하며, 하루최소 3,000명이상의 태아가 죽어가고 있으며 1년이면 100만 명이상의 낙태가 이루어진다는 것은 생명존엄 차원에서도 있을 수 없는 일이라고 강조했다.
이어서 지명 토론자인 (사)생명존엄재단 김윤영 상임이사는 생명의 존중함과 낙태의 근절을 위한 대책이 시급하게 이뤄져야 한다고 강조했고, 어머니기자단 강미향 중앙단장도 생명존중과 출산장려운동은 반드시 지금 세대에서 이루어져야 할 중요한 문제라는 것에 공감했다.
(사)생명존엄재단 이광연 이사장은 “이번 출산장려 캠페인을 통해서 더욱 생명의 존엄성을 널리 알리고 이후 (사)한국출산장려협회와 더불어 대한민국 출산장려 및 저출산 대책을 제도화하는 시민운동에 앞장서겠다.”고 말했다.
한편, 이날 행사에는 (사)생명존엄재단(이광연 이사장)과 (사)대한기자협회(김필용 이사장)와의 업무협약도 진행됐다. 이번 협약을 통해 생명의 존엄과 자연 생태계의 보존 및 복원을 위해 상호 이해증진의 폭을 넓히고, 상호협력하에 필요한 각종 행사와 사업을 원활히 수행하자는데 뜻을 같이 했다.
