브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 김여정 북한 노동당 부부장이 연이틀 담화에서 '남조선' 대신 '대한민국'이라고 언급한 배경에 대해 관심이 쏠리고 있다.
김여정 부부장은 10~11일 연이어 발표한 담화에서 미국 공군의 정찰기 비행을 문제삼으며 위협했고, 북한 측 주장을 반박한 우리 군을 향해서도 "대한민국의 군부 깡패", "대한민국의 합동참모본부" 등의 표현을 사용했다.
이에 구병삼 통일부 대변인은 이날 "이번 김여정의 두 차례 담화와 같이 대남 비난 메시지 차원에서 '대한민국'을 언급한 것은 최초"라고 설명했다.
그는 "북한이 공식 발표한 성명, 담화 등 입장 발표에서 우리를 대한민국으로 지칭한 사례는 없는 걸로 안다"면서 "국제경기 대회, 남북회담에서 제3자 발언이나 언론을 인용할 경우 등에만 대한민국으로 표기한 바 있다"고 말했다.
김 부부장이 통상 사용해오던 '남조선'이란 표현을 쓰지않고, 한국 정식 국명을 사용한 건 남측을 통일을 지향하는 특수관계가 아니라 나라 대 나라 관계로 간주하겠단 의도로 읽혀진다. 앞으로 통일의 대상이 아닌 한국을 '별개의 국가'로 보겠다는 입장을 공식화한 것이란 분석도 나온다.
이에 구병삼 대변인은 "최근 외무성에서 현대아산 방북 거부 입장을 표명했고 김여정 부부장이 대한민국을 지칭한 것과 관련해서, 정부로선 북한 의도와 향후 태도를 예단하지 않고 예의주시하겠다"고 전했다.
한편 김여정 부부장은 앞서 새벽 담화를 통해 미 공군 전략정찰기가 동해 배타적경제수역(EEZ) 상공을 침범했다고 주장하며 대응 행동을 경고했다.
