울진군, 백암온천배 전국 유소년 축구대회 21일 개막

온정면 문화체육회가 주최하고 한국유소년축구협회가 공동으로 주관하는 이번 대회는 백암다목적운동장과 온정면 생활체육공원에서 예선리그전을 거쳐 본선 토너먼트로 진행된다.

특히, 이번 대회는 62개 팀 선수단과 임원, 학부모 등 1500명 이상이 울진군 온정면 백암온천 일대를 방문해 코로나로 침체됐던 지역 경제에 활력을 불어넣을 것으로 군은 기대하고 있다.

손병복 울진군수는“이번 대회를 통해 유소년 선수들의 기량과 경험이 한층 더 성장하길 바란다”며“대회에 참가하는 선수들이 안전하게 경기를 마무리할 수 있도록 대회 준비에 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.

한편 군은 잘 갖춰진 체육시설 인프라 및 온화한 기온 등 최적의 여건을 갖추고 있다. 이를 적극적인 행정지원과 함께 전국에 적극 홍보하여 전국 및 도단위 대회 개최 및 전지훈련 유치에 더욱 박차를 가해 지역경제 성장 동력의 한 축으로 발전시켜 나간다는 계획이다.
