9일 경주시에 따르면 먼저 독일 대원 235명이 오는 12일부터 19일까지 1주일 간 불국사와 골굴사 2곳에 나눠 템플스테이를 체험한다.
7개 팀으로 나눠 1박 2일간의 일정을 머물겠다는 계획을 알려왔다고 경주시는 설명했다.
이어 포르투갈 대원 13명도 오는 17일부터 골굴사에서 1박 2일 일정으로 템플스테이를 체험할 예정이라고 밝혔다.
또 체코, 루마니아, 우루과이 대원 130여명도 오는 12일부터 13일까지 1박 2일 일정으로 불국사와 석굴암, 대릉원, 첨성대, 동궁과 월지 등을 중심으로 한 문화체험 활동에 나선다고 밝혔다.
이번 방문은 경북도와 경북문화관광공사가 ‘제25회 세계스카우트잼버리’ 사·전 사·후 프로그램의 일환으로 이들을 유치하면서 성사됐다.
이에 따라 경주시는 잼버리 대원들이 한국의 문화와 역사, 자연을 체험할 수 있도록 지원과 협조를 아끼지 않을 방침이다.
앞서 세계잼버리대회가 개최되기 전 경주를 찾은 독일, 핀란드, 뉴질랜드 참가자들에게도 지원에 나선 바 있다.
지난달 24일부터 29일까지 독일 대원 200여 명이 화룡유스호스텔에서 묶었고, 같은달 27일부터 30일까지 핀란드 대원 720여 명이 신라유스호스텔에서 머물며 경주 곳곳을 탐방했다.
또 뉴질랜드 대원 80여 명도 같은 달 27일부터 29일까지 3일 간 경주에서 체류한 바 있다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “세계 각국 잼버리 대원들의 경주 방문을 25만 시민과 함께 진심으로 환영한다”며, “대원들이 천년고도 경주의 역사문화를 체험하고, 경주에서 멋진 추억을 만들 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
