28일 한울본부에 따르면 이번 봉사활동은 한울본부 노사합동 봉사대, 북면발전협의회, 울진에 정착한 한수원 퇴직자들로 구성된 시니어봉사단, 북면여성자원봉사회 등 약 50여 명이 참가한 가운데 진행됐다.
참가자들은 북면 흥부시장에서 출발해 석호항 근처 백사장 약 1.5km의 해안길을 걸으며 해변에 흩어진 쓰레기를 수거하는 환경정화 활동을 펼쳐 쓰레기 약 1톤을 수거했다.
손봉순 대외협력처장은 “참가자들이 몸소 보여준 아름다운 실천에 감사드리며, 한울본부는 앞으로도 발전소 주변지역의 자연환경 보전을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
