한중도시우호협회측은 8월29일자 보도자료에서 “한중도시우호협회(회장 권기식)은 28일 오후 경기도 시흥시 산기대학로 소재 한국공학대학교(총장 박건수) 시흥비즈니스센터 회의실에서 한중 대학생 교류 추진 간담회를 개최했다”고 전했다.
권기식 회장은 이날 "한국의 대표적인 산업 특성화 대학인 한국공학대학교가 한중 대학생 교류에 앞장서는 것은 한중 미래세대의 산업 협력에 밑거름이 될 것"이라며 "한중도시우호협회는 한중 대학생 교류를 위해 협력과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 말했다.
홍성수 한국공학대학교 대외협력처장은 "한중 교류에 큰 역할을 하는 한중도시우호협회와 협력해 한중 대학생 교류와 우수 중국 유학생 유치를 추진하겠다"고 강조했다.
양측은 한중 대학생 교류를 위한 실무 협의체를 구성해 운영하기로 의견을 모았다. 이날 간담회에는 한중도시우호협회에서 서강옥 산업담당 부회장이 참석했고, 한국공학대학교에서는 한민섭 조기취업형인재양성사업단장과 김선영 제품시스템디자인공학과 연구교수, 고태규 연구교수 등이 참석했다.
