동국대 WISE캠퍼스 MICE관광산업연구소 (재)경주화백컨벤션뷰로와 상호 협력에 맞손

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 MICE관광산업연구소는 지난 1일 교내 진흥관에서 (재)경주화백컨벤션뷰로와 지역관광·MICE산업 발전을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 6일 밝혔다.

이날 협약식은 (재)경주화백컨벤션뷰로 김용국 사장, 최재길 본부장, 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 MICE관광산업연구소 소장 김남현 교수, 한진석 연구교수 등 양 기관 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

양 기관은 지역 MICE산업 활성화를 위한 국제회의, 전시회 등 행사 유치 및 개최,지역 관광·MICE산업 발전을 위한 연구 및 기술 개발 프로젝트 진행,지역 관광·MICE 산업 이론 및 실무 교육을 통한 인재양성,지역관광추진조직(DMO) 홍보 및 운영 확대 등 다양한 분야에서 상호 협력해 나가기로 했다.

(재)경주화백컨벤션뷰로 김용국 사장은 “양 기관이 이미 많은 분야에서 협력해 왔고 이번 업무협약 체결을 통해 그 협력이 확대·지속될 것을 기대한다.”며, “ESG, 인재양성 등 다양한 분야에서 학술기관의 역할이 커져가고 있는 상황에서 이번 업무협약체결이 지역 사회의 관광·MICE 산업 발전에 큰 도움이 될 것이다.”고 말했다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스 MICE관광산업연구소 김남현 소장은 “(재)경주화백컨벤션뷰로와의 협력 확대로 MICE와 관광산업 실무중심의 전문인력 양성을 위한 중요한 계기가 될 것이며 경주시 APEC 유치에도 함께 힘을 보탤 수 있을 것”이라고 밝히면서 “이번 협약이 지역 MICE·관광 산업의 발전에도 기여할 것으로 기대한다.”고 말했다.
