브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 원희룡 국토교통부 장관은 전국철도노동조합이 14일부터 대규모 파업에 들어간데 대해 "철도의 주인은 국민"이라며 현장 복귀를 강조했다.
원희룡 장관은 이날 오후 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "철도노조가 지켜야 할 자리는 정치투쟁의 싸움터가 아니라, 국민의 일상을 지키는 일터인 철도현장이다. 즉각 현장으로 돌아가십시오"라고 밝혔다.
철도노조는 공공철도 확대, 4조 2교대 전면 시행, 성실 교섭 등을 요구하며 이날부터 파업에 돌입했다. 지난 2019년 11월 파업이후 4년 만이다.
이날 철도노조 파업 여파로 인해 KTX, 수도권 전철, 새마을호, 무궁화호 등 열차 1170대가 운행이 중지되거나 감축 운행을 해 이용객들의 피해가 불가피한 상황이다.
한문희 한국철도공사 사장도 이날 대국민 사과문을 냈다. 한문희 사장은 "이번 파업은 수서행 KTX 운행과 고속철도 통합 등 교섭을 통해 해결할 수 없는 정부정책 사항을 핵심 목적으로 하고 있어 정당성이 없다"면서 "파업 과정에서 발생하는 일체의 불법행위에 대해 법과 원칙에 따라 엄정하게 대처할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
국토부 역시도 대체인력을 집중 투입해 열차 운행률을 최대한 높이는 한편 불법행위에 엄정 대응할 방침이다.
