브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 농협의 지난 5년간 보이스피싱 피해액이 4600억여원에 달하는 것으로 나타났다.
1일 위성곤 더불어민주당 의원이 농협중앙회로부터 제출받은 지역농축협과 농협은행 계좌를 통한 보이스피싱 발생 현황 자료에 따르면 최근 5년 간 총 3만1359 건 발생했으며, 누적 피해금액으로는 4626억원에 달했다.
반면 보이스피싱 피해자 가운데 계좌 지급거래 중지로 돌려받은 금액은 675억원으로, 전체 피해신고액의 14.6%에 불과한 것으로 나타났다.
연도별 피해신고액 대비 환급비율을 본면, 2018년 16.6%, 2019년 15.7%, 2021년 14.8%, 2022년 12.8%, 올해는 7월 말 기준 8.4% 로 매년 줄어들고 있었다.
보이스피싱 피해자가 많이 발생한 지역은 경기도로, 최근 5년 간 7418건, 1151억원의 피해가 발생했다. 이어 서울 , 경남 , 경북 , 충남 순으로 피해액이 컸다.
보이스피싱 피해는 2019년 정점 이후 2020년부터 코로나19로 인한 사기조직의 활동 위축과 사회적 경각심 확산으로 감소 추세이다.
하지만 올해의 경우 7월까지 피해액이 641억원으로, 지난해 같은 기간 피해액 541억원을 넘어서는 등 다시금 피해금액이 커지고 있어 각별한 주의가 요구된다.
잉 위성곤 의원은 “보이스피싱에 대한 사회적 이해도가 높아졌지만 수법이 갈수록 교묘해지고 피해금액이 다시 커지고 있는 만큼 신종 사기수법에 대한 신속대응체계를 보다 면밀하게 구축할 필요가 있다”고 강조했다.
