브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT&G복지재단은 지난 16일 서울시 성북구에 위치한 성북구립 석관실버복지센터에서 ‘2023 사회복지기관 차량 전달식’을 갖고, 전국 사회복지기관에 경차 100대를 지원했다고 17일 밝혔다.
KT&G복지재단은 지역 사회복지기관의 원활한 사회복지활동 지원을 위해 매년 경차를 지원해오고 있다. 좁은 골목길이 많은 복지 수혜지역의 특성을 고려해 기동력이 우수한 경승용차를 지원하고 있으며, 올해까지 전국 사회복지기관에 전달한 차량은 모두 2200대에 이른다.
매년 공모를 통해 차량 지원 기관을 선정하고 있으며, 올해는 총 900여 개의 사회복지기관이 공모에 참여했다. KT&G복지재단은 선정 필요성, 효과성, 적합성 등의 심사 기준을 통해 우선적으로 지원이 필요하다고 판단되는 100개 기관을 최종 선정했다.
KT&G복지재단 관계자는 “열악한 환경에서 봉사하는 지역 사회복지기관을 돕고자20년째 경차를 지원하고 있다”며 “지원된 차량이 지역 사회복지활동에 소중히 쓰이길 바란다”고 전했다.
한편, KT&G복지재단은 지역사회와 소통하고 기업의 사회적 책임을 다하기 위해 KT&G가 2003년 설립한 재단으로 8개 지역에서 복지센터를 운영하며 밀착형 복지 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 저소득층을 대상으로 문화적·경제적 지원을 제공하고, 복지기관의 인프라 향상에도 힘쓰며 어려운 이웃과 지역사회에 나눔을 실천하고 있다.
