브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= KCC는 이달 27일까지 부산 벡스코(BEXCO)에서 열리는 국제 조선 및 해양산업 전시회 코마린(KORMARINE) 2023에 참가한다고 26일 밝혔다.
2009년 첫 참가 후 올해 여섯 번째를 맞은 KCC는 부산 벡스코 4번 홀 4S03에 약 72㎡의 부스를 마련해 KCC 선박도료 기술 및 제품을 국내외 고객사들에게 소개한다.
특히, 이번 전시회에서는 온실가스 배출 규제 등 선박에 대한 환경 규제가 강화되고 있는 흐름에 맞춰 실리콘 방오도료 MetaCruise NS(Neo Silicone)와 용제 저(低)함량 도료(High Solid Products)를 주력으로 선보인다.
MetaCruise NS는 올해 출시한 고성능 실리콘 수지 기반의 방오도료로 선체 표면의 마찰저항력을 줄여 선박의 연료 효율을 높이고 탄소 배출을 감소시켜 준다. 6월에 출시된 이후 세계 최대 컨테이너사인 MSC(Mediterranean Shipping Company)의 선박에 적용됐고, 남유럽, 북유럽외 23척에 추가로 도장될 예정이다.
용제 저함량 도료(High Solid Products)는 대기환경 문제의 원인 중 하나인 휘발성유기화합물(VOC)의 함량을 최소화한 도료로, 국내 대기환경보전법을 준수하면서 우수한 방청성과 작업성이 발현되도록 설계된 환경친화적인 제품이다.
KCC 용제 저함량 도료는 IMO(국제해사기구)의 PSPC규격에 준한 품질성적서를 주요 선급으로부터 인증받으며 품질 신뢰성을 높였고, 현재 140척 이상의 선박에 적용중에 있다.

제품 전시와 함께 국내외 조선/해운업계에서 요구하는 고기능성 선박 도료 및 환경친화적인 업계 흐름을 볼 수 있는 기술세미나도 준비했다. 세미나는 친환경기술과 미래기술을 주제로 지난 25일 벡스코 2전시장 122호에서 약 1시간 동안 진행됐으며, 선박 도료 기술 트렌드에 관심 있는 다수의 국내외 조선소 및 선주사 관계자들이 참석했다.
KCC관계자는 “이번 전시회에서 국내외 선박 관련 주요 고객들과 직접 소통하며 제품, 기술에 대한 소개와 피드백을 들을 수 있어 뜻깊은 시간이었다”며 “KCC의 환경 친화적인 선박도료 및 관련 제품을 고객사들이 많이 접하고 적용할 수 있도록 판촉 및 홍보 활동에 박차를 가할 계획이다”고 전했다.
