현대차그룹은 5일 기아 비전스퀘어(경기도 용인시 소재)에서 현대차그룹 한용빈 부사장, 사회복지공동모금회 황인식 사무총장, 한국장애인복지시설협회 정석왕 회장, 한국척수장애인협회 정진완 회장, 한국장애인재활상담사협회 박경순 회장, 한국장애인단체총연맹 김동범 사무총장 등 관계자 40여명이 참석한 가운데 ‘이동약자 모빌리티 지원사업 전달식’을 가졌다고 밝혔다.
이동약자 모빌리티 지원사업은 현대차그룹이 이동약자들의 이동권 증진을 위해 2011년부터 진행해온 사회공헌 활동이다. 이를 통해 현대차그룹은 복지차량, 장애인용 자전거, 노인용 전동스쿠터, 근력 보조기 등 다양한 모빌리티 기기를 기증해왔으며, 올해까지 총 누적 기증 규모는 약 79억 원에 달한다.
올해 지원 품목은 레이 복지차량 24대, 카니발 복지차량 6대, 전동보장구 105대(전동휠체어 49대, 전동스쿠터 56대)로 약 12억원 규모다.
특히, 레이 복지차량과 카니발 복지차량은 현대차그룹이 육성한 사회적 기업 이지무브에서 개발했으며, 휠체어 탑승자에게 최적화된 설계를 갖춘 것이 특징이다.
현대차그룹은 해당 품목들을 한국장애인복지시설협회, 한국척수장애인협회, 한국장애인재활상담사협회, 한국장애인단체총연맹에 나누어 기증했다.
각 기관들은 공정하고 투명한 심사를 통해 최종 수혜 대상을 선발하여 복지차량과 전동보장구를 지원할 계획이다.
레이 복지차량 및 카니발 복지차량은 전국 중증 장애인 시설에 거주하는 장애인들의 일상 생활 지원 및 요양 서비스를 위해 활용되며, 전동보장구는 복지 사각지대에 놓인 중/경증 장애인들에게 전달될 예정이다.
