전북 군산해양경찰서는 개정된 '수중레저활동의 안전 및 활성화 등에 관한 법률'(이하 '수중레저법')에 따라 해수청으로부터 안전관리 업무를 이관받아 23일부터 본격적으로 시행한다고 밝혔다.
이번 법 개정의 핵심은 수중 레저 관련 안전관리 권한이 해양수산부(해수청)에서 해양경찰로 이관됐다는 점이다.
이에 따라 ▲ 수중레저사업장 등록 및 관리 ▲ 정기ㆍ수시 안전점검 ▲ 위험 상황 시 활동 제한 및 통제 등 주요 업무를 해양경찰이 직접 수행한다.
