브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회 사회공헌재단이 코로나19로 중단됐던 ‘국민드림마차 지원사업’을 2년 만에 재개해 노인복지시설 60곳에 차량을 전달했다.
이달 6일 렛츠런파크 서울에서 시행된 전달식에는 재단 이사장 겸 한국마사회 회장인 정기환 회장 및 수혜기관인 복지시설 60개소 관계자 등 180여명이 참석했다.
이번 행사에서는 ‘드림키’라 이름 붙여진 차량키를 기관 한곳 한곳에 직접 전달한 후 실제 차량이 대기해 있는 곳으로 이동해 축하의 자리를 가졌다.
한국마사회 사회공헌재단은 지난 5월 공모를 시작한 후 공정하고 투명한 선정을 위해 엄격한 사업계획서 검토 및 현장실사를 진행, 연내에 차량을 지원함으로써 어르신들의 이동권 증진에 기여하게 됐다.
정기환 이사장은 “까다로운 심사 후 최종 선정된 곳이니만큼 각 복지시설에서 자부심을 가지고 적기적소에 사용해주시길 당부한다”며 “국민드림마차를 이용해 이동할 때마다 좋은 길로만 행차하기를 바라는 마음이다”고 전했다.
한편, 2004년 ‘사랑의 황금마차’로 시작돼 큰 호응을 얻은 이 사업은 2018년 ‘국민드림마차’로 새 단장 후 아동, 장애인, 노인복지시설 등을 대상으로 1090대의 차량을 지원함으로써 명실상부한 한국마사회 대표 사회공헌사업으로 자리매김했다.
