브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 전날(25일) 배현진 국민의힘 의원을 습격한 10대 중학생이 응급입원 조처됐다.
26일 경찰에 따르면 서울 강남경찰서는 배현진 의원을 습격한 미성년자 A군을 현행범 체포한 뒤, 보호자 입회 하에 조사한 후 이날 새벽 응급입원 시켰다.
응급입원은 정신질환자로 추정되는 사람이 자해나 타해 위험이 있는 경우, 의사와 경찰의 동의를 받아 정신의료기관에 3일 이내의 기간 동안 당사자의 동의 없이도 강제 입원시킬 수 있는 제도다.
A군은 지난 25일 오후 5시18분 경 서울 강남구에 있는 한 건물에서 배현진 의원을 따라가 둔기로 공격했다.
배 의원을 따라간 A군은 "배현진 의원이냐"고 물은 후, 배 의원이 맞다고 답하자 배 의원을 여러차례 가격했다.
신고를 받고 출동한 경찰은 A군을 특수폭행 혐의로 현장에서 체포했다.
