브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차그룹이 설을 앞두고 협력사에 납품대금을 조기 지급하며 올해도 상생활동을 이어간다.
현대차그룹은 설 명절을 앞둔 협력사의 자금 부담 완화를 위해 납품대금 2조1447억 원을 당초 지급일보다 최대 23일 앞당겨 지급할 계획이라고 29일 밝혔다.
이번 납품대금 조기 지급은 △현대자동차 △기아 △현대모비스 △현대건설 △현대제철 △현대오토에버 △현대위아 등에 부품 및 원자재, 소모품 등을 납품하는 6000여 개 협력사를 대상으로 진행된다.
현대차그룹은 상여금 등 각종 임금과 원부자재 대금 등으로 협력사들의 자금 소요가 설 명절 일시적으로 집중되는 부담을 해소하는 데 납품대금 조기 지급이 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
또한, 1차 협력사들도 설 이전에 2, 3차 협력사들에 납품대금을 앞당겨 지급할 수 있도록 유도해, 수혜 대상을 늘리고 대금 조기 지급의 효과를 확산시키겠다는 방침이다.
현대차그룹은 매년 설, 추석 명절 전 협력사들의 자금난 해소를 돕기 위해 납품대금을 선지급해왔으며, 지난해 설과 추석에도 각각 2조3766억 원, 1조9965억 원의 대금을 조기 집행한 바 있다.
현대차그룹 관계자는 “자금 수요가 많은 설 명절을 맞아 협력사들의 안정적인 경영 환경 조성에 기여하길 바란다”며, “앞으로도 협력사에 실질적인 도움이 되는 상생 활동을 적극 실천해 동반성장에 앞장서 나갈 것이다”고 밝혔다.
이에 앞서, 현대차그룹은 올해 1월 본격 시행된 납품대금 연동제 조기 안착을 적극 지원하며 상생 생태계 저변을 넓히는 데 힘을 쏟고 있다. 납품대금 연동제는 주요 원자재 가격 변동 시 납품대금 조정을 가능케 해 협력사의 부담을 경감해주는 취지의 제도다.
현대차그룹은 중소벤처기업부가 납품단가 연동제 도입을 위해 2022년 출범한 TF에 참여해 기 운영 중인 납품단가 연동제 경험과 노하우를 공유하는 등 적극적인 역할을 했다. 2023년 1월부터는 2·3차 협력사에 대해 납품대금 연동제를 실시하는 1차 협력사의 대출 이자 지원을 위해 1000억 원 규모의 ‘납품대금 연동제 도입 지원 펀드’를 운용하고 있다.
기아와 현대위아는 작년 12월 중소벤처기업부와 공정거래위원회가 공동 주최한 ‘연동 우수기업 포상 및 모범사례 발표회’에서 연동 우수기업에 선정됐다.
한편, 현대차그룹 임직원들은 설 명절을 앞두고 전국에 위치한 사업장별로 곳곳의 소외된 이웃을 찾아 온기를 전하고 있다.
