브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자는 2024년형 삼성 Neo QLED·OLED·더 프레임 등 신제품 총 8개 시리즈(34개 모델)가 독일 ‘TUV라인란드(TÜV Rheinland)’로부터 ‘탄소저감(Product Carbon Reduction)’ 인증을 획득했다고 5일 밝혔다.
TUV 라인란드는 TV제품의 제조, 운송, 사용, 폐기까지 전 생애주기에 걸쳐 발생하는 온실가스 배출량을 국제 기준에 따라 평가해 ‘탄소 발자국’ 인증을 부여한다.
‘탄소 발자국’ 인증을 받고 기업의 탄소 배출량 저감을 위한 지속적인 관심과 노력을 통해 기존 동급 모델 대비 탄소 발생량이 감소한 제품에는 ‘탄소저감’ 인증을 수여한다.
삼성전자는 2021년 영국 카본트러스트로부터 Neo QLED로 4K 이상 해상도를 가진 TV 최초로 탄소저감 인증을 획득한 이후, QLED·크리스탈 UHD·라이프스타일 TV·OLED·모니터·사이니지까지 인증 대상 제품군과 규모를 매년 확대하고 있다.
올해 삼성전자는 사운드바 등 신규 제품군을 추가해 60개 이상 모델의 탄소 발자국 인증 또는 탄소저감 인증을 획득할 예정이다.
또한, 삼성전자 영상디스플레이사업부는 업계 최초로 독일 TUV라인란드로부터 제품 전 생애주기의 온실가스 배출량을 측정하고 관리하는 탄소 배출량 산정방식에 대한 인증도 획득했다.
