최민호 세종시장이 5일 충남도청을 방문해 ‘세종과 충남, 상생의 길’을 모색했다.
최민호 시장의 이번 충남도청 방문은 올해 하반기 충청권 지방정부연합 출범을 앞두고 초광역생활권 조성 파트너인 충남도와 협력을 강화하기 위해 추진됐다.
이 자리에서 최민호 시장은 김태흠 충남지사와 ‘세종-충남’ 6대 분야 상생발전 업무협약을 체결하고 양 지자체 간 관계 증진과 광범위한 교류 협력 강화에 힘을 모으기로 했다.
구체적인 협력 분야는 농업, 관광·레저, 청년지원, 신산업 육성·연구, 초광역생활권 조성 등이다.
협약은 양 지자체가 충청권을 대한민국 제2의 수도권으로 한 단계 도약하기 위해 어깨를 걸고 함께 나섰다는 데 의미가 크다.
앞으로 세종시와 충남도는 분야별 실무협의를 진행해 헙력과제를 발굴·추진함으로써 양 지자체 간 전략적·입체적 동반자 관계를 구축해 나간다는 전략이다.
이날 협약 체결에 앞서 최민호 시장은 지난달 22일 서천특화시장 화재 발생으로 인해 피해를 본 상인들을 돕기 위해 김태흠 충남지사에게 성금 3,000만 원을 전달했다.
최민호 시장은 “세종과 충남은 충청권 차원의 협력을 넘어서 더욱 긴밀한 협력이 필요한 이웃사촌과도 같은 관계”라며 “어려울 때 서로 돕고, 상생의 발전을 위해 머리를 맞대면서 충남과 함께 상생의 길을 열어가겠다”고 말했다.
한편 이날 최민호 시장은 충남도 전 직원을 대상으로 ‘창조와 도전정신으로 큰 뜻을 품고 미래를 향해!’를 주제로 특강을 진행했다.
