브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 신한라이프가 지난 27일 서울시 영등포구 여의도 금융감독원에서 열린 ‘1사 1교 금융교육 우수사례 시상식’에서 금융감독원장상을 수상했다.
금융감독원이 주관하는 ‘1사 1교 금융교육’은 청소년들이 올바른 금융교육을 통해 건전한 금융생활 습관을 형성할 수 있도록 금융회사와 학교가 결연을 맺어 교육을 진행하는 프로그램이다.
이번 시상식은 23년 중 교육 프로그램에 적극 참여해 성과가 우수한 학교, 교사, 금융동아리, 금융회사, 금융회사 직원을 선정하여 포상하기 위해 마련됐다.
신한라이프는 전년 대비 약 70% 증가한 총 1만1711명의 학생을 대상으로 전문 강사가 직접 학교를 방문해 대면 금융교육을 진행했다. 뿐만 아니라 은퇴한 중장년층을 시니어 보조 강사로 양성해 교육 현장에 추가 배치함으로써, 시니어 일자리 창출과 학생들의 학습 만족도 개선에 힘쓴 점을 인정받아 우수 금융회사로 선정됐다.
신한라이프 관계자는 “기초 금융교육은 청소년들이 사회의 일원으로 올바르게 성장하기 위한 필수 교육이므로 이를 접하기 어려운 지역의 학교에도 관심이 필요하다”며 “앞으로도 다양하고 이해하기 쉬운 양질의 금융교육 프로그램을 통해 많은 청소년이 올바른 경제관념을 가질 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
한편, 신한라이프는 임직원 봉사단인 ‘라이프 크루’를 통해 자립준비청년과 사회복지사 등 사회의 다양한 금융소외 계층을 위해 매월 금융교육 멘토링을 진행하고 있으며, 지난해 금융감독원이 주최한 제18회 금융공모전에서 우수 금융교육 프로그램으로 선정돼 금융감독원장상을 수상했다.
