군에 따르면 군민안전보험은 2017년부터 7년째 추진하는 사업으로 군민을 대상으로 각종 재난 및 예측하기 어려운 사고로부터 피해를 입을 경우 최고 3,000만원 한도의 혜택을 받을 수 있다.
보험 대상은 관내 주민등록을 둔 군민이며 별도의 절차나 조건 없이 자동으로 보험 수익자가 될 수 있고, 관내 외국인 등록대장에 등록된 울진군 내 외국인도 혜택을 받을 수 있다.
주요 보장 내용은 ▲야생동물 피해 사고 ▲익사사고 ▲폭발·화재·붕괴사고 ▲온열질환 사고▲농기계 사고 ▲가스 사고 등 사망또는 후유장해 발생 시 최대 3천만원 한도로 보장받을 수 있다.
