브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT가 28일 서울 서초구 태봉로 KT연구개발센터에서 제42기 정기 주주총회를 개최했다.
이날 주주총회에서 △제42기 재무제표 승인 △정관 일부 변경 △이사 보수한도 승인 등 총 3개 의안을 상정해 원안대로 의결했다.
KT 김영섭 대표는 의장 인사말을 통해 “KT는 작년 경영 위기를 전화위복으로 삼아 선진화된 지배구조를 구축했으며, 안정적인 사업운영과 견고한 실적으로 KT의 저력을 입증했다”며 “KT가 가지고 있는 통신 기반에 IT와 AI를 더해 AICT 기업으로 빠르게 성장해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
재무제표 승인에 따라 주당 배당금은 1960원으로 확정했으며, 오는 4월 26일 지급될 예정이다. 이에 따라 KT는 지난 25일 완료한 271억원 규모의 자기주식 취득 및 소각을 포함해 총 5101억원을 주주에게 환원한다.
KT는 정관 일부 변경 승인에 따라 24년도부터 분기배당을 도입하고, 이사회에서 결산 배당기준일을 결의할 수 있도록 배당 절차를 개선했다. 특히, 이번 배당 절차 개선으로 투자자들은 KT의 배당규모를 먼저 확인하고 투자 여부를 결정할 수 있어 투자 안정성이 높아질 것으로 기대된다.
한편, KT는 지난해 10월 ‘중기 주주환원 정책’을 발표하며 분기배당 도입 계획 외에도 오는 25년까지 최소 배당금 1960원을 보장하고 자사주 매입 및 소각 방침 등을 밝힌 바 있다.
