신한울2호기, 4월 5일부터 상업운전 돌입

8일 한수원에 따르면 신한울2호기는 지난해 9월 운영허가를 취득하고 연료를 장전하였다.

이후, 단계별 출력상승시험과 원자로 및 터빈발전기의 성능시험을 통해 최종 안전성을 확인하고 원자력안전위원회로부터 사용전검사 최종 합격통보, 산업통상자원부에 사업개시 신고 등을 거쳐 4월5일부터 상업운전을 개시하게 됐다.

황주호 한수원 사장은 “안정적인 에너지 공급과 탄소중립 달성에 이바지할 수 있도록 안전을 최우선으로 신한울2호기를 운영하겠다” 라고 밝혔다.

한편 국내 28번째 원자력발전소인 신한울2호기의 상업운전으로 국내 운영중인 원전은 모두 26기(계속운전 준비중인 고리2호기 포함)가 됐다.
