브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자가 일과 육아를 병행하는 삼성 디지털시티(수원사업장) 임직원들의 육아 부담을 덜고 업무에 집중할 수 있도록 돕기 위해 어린이집을 확충했다.
삼성전자는 9일 삼성 디지털시티에 보육 정원 300명, 건물 연면적 1780평 규모의 제4 어린이집을 신축하고 개원식을 가졌다고 밝혔다.
삼성전자는 현재 3개 어린이집을 삼성 디지털시티에 운영 중이고, 이번 신축 어린이집 개원을 통해 보육 정원 총 1200명, 건물 연면적 총 6080평의 전국 최대 규모(단일 사업장 기준)의 어린이집을 운영하게 됐다.
삼성전자가 운영하는 어린이집은 만 1세~5세 영유아 자녀를 둔 임직원이면 누구나 신청 가능하며, 제4 어린이집은 이러한 임직원들의 어린이집 입소 수요를 충족시키기 위해 신축됐다.
이날 진행된 개원행사에는 삼성전자 경영지원실장 박학규 사장과 인사팀장 나기홍 부사장, 수원지원센터장 김영호 부사장 등 주요 임원과 어린이집 교직원 및 학부모, 어린이집 공사 관계자 등 100여명이 참석했다.
삼성전자 경영지원실장 박학규 사장은 “이번 제4 어린이집 증축으로 임직원들이 육아부담을 덜고 아이 키우기 좋은 환경을 만드는데 기여할 것이라 확신한다”며 “더욱 안심하고 아이를 맡길 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 1996년에 보육 정원 94명으로 처음 개원한 삼성 디지털시티 어린이집은 28년만에 12배 이상 규모가 늘어났다. 교직원은 현재 240명으로 교사 한 명 당 4.6명의 아동을 돌보게 된다.
삼성전자는 전국 8개 사업장에 보육 정원 총 3100명 규모로 12개의 어린이집을 운영하고 있다.
