[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 남해군이 정부가 추진하는 ‘소규모 관광단지’ 후보지 지자체로 선정되면서 삼동면 대지포 웰니스 온천단지 조성사업과 창선 라이팅아일랜드 조성사업이 더욱 탄력을 받을 것으로 기대된다.
남해군에 따르면, 지난 15일 최상목 부총리겸 기획재정부 장관 주재로 열린 비상경제장관회의에서 ‘인구감소지역 지원프로젝트’의 일환으로 소규모 관광단지 조성 방안이 발표됐고 후보 대상지로 남해군을 포함한 전국 7개 시군이 선정됐다.
‘소규모 관광단지’는 올해 초 새롭게 도입된 제도로 인구감소지역에 관광기반시설을 조성해 실질적인 생활인구 확대를 도모하기 위해 마련됐다.
기존 ‘관광단지’ 제도를 완화해, 개발부담금 면제 등의 혜택이 주어지고 인구감소지역 혜택이 추가로 지원된다.
지정요건도 기존 50만㎡에서 5만㎡~30만㎡로 줄이고 필수 시설 요건도 공공편익과 관광숙박시설을 갖추면 승인할 수 있도록 했다.
지정·승인 권한 역시 기존 광역자치단체장에서 기초자치단체장으로 이양된다.
문화체육관광부에서는 내년 1분기 소규모 관광단지 지정을 목표로 세부요건 등을 마련하고 있다.
