26일 경주시는 국세청과 ‘성실납세 문화 확산과 지역경제 활성화 및 문화유산 가치 제고를 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다.
경주시청 대외협력실에서 열린 이날 협약식에는 경주시장과 윤종건 대구지방국세청장이 참석했다.
두 기관의 업무협약으로 △동궁과 월지 △천마총 △동궁원 △오릉 △무열왕릉 △포석정 △금관총 △신라고분정보센터 △황룡사역사문화관△김유신 장군묘 등 주요 관광지 10곳의 입장료를 1000원 씩 할인한다.
이에 경주시는 할인 혜택을 적용할 수 있도록 조례 개정을 진행 중이며, 행정절차가 마무리되는 다음달부터 시행에 들어갈 계획이다.
또 국세청은 경주 지역 주요 관광지에서 세금포인트를 사용할 수 있는 모바일 쿠폰을 모바일 손택스(앱)를 통해 5월 말부터 발행할 계획이다.
경주시와 국세청은 이번 협약을 통해 경주시의 우수한 문화유산을 접할 기회를 제공하고, 시가지 주요관광 명소를 찾는 관광객 증가로 지역경제 살리기에도 기여할것으로 기대하고 있다.
윤종건 대구지방국세청장은 “역사와 문화의 도시인 경주시와 업무협약을 통해 세금을 성실하게 납부한 국민이 세금포인트 혜택을 체감할 수 있는 기회가 한층 더 확대됐다”며, “더욱 많은 국민이 경주시의 문화유산을 접할 수 있는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “경주시가 전국 지자체 최초로 국세청 세금포인트제도를 도입해 성실납세 문화 확산에 동참할 수 있게 된 점을 매우 뜻깊게 생각한다”며, “세금포인트를 이용한 관람료 감면 홍보로 경주를 찾는관광객 증가에 따른 경주시 관광산업과 지역경제 활성화에 큰 도움이 될 것을 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
