브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 약 15만㎡ 규모의 광운대역 물류부지가 HDC현대산업개발 본사 이전 등 업무·상업·주거 복합개발을 통해 동북권 일자리 창출을 견인할 경제거점으로 탈바꿈한다.
서울시는 22일 노원구, HDC현대산업개발과 강북대개조 사업의 신호탄이 될 ‘광운대역 물류부지 동북권 신(新)생활·지역 경제거점 조성을 위한 업무협약’을 체결한다고 밝혔다.
과거 동북권 지역 내 화물을 담당하던 ‘광운대역 물류부지’(노원구 85-7번지 일대)는 지역경제를 견인하는 중요한 역할을 해왔으나, 시설 노후화와 분진·소음 등으로 기피시설화 되면서 서울시가 2009년부터 사전협상을 통한 재개발을 추진하기 시작했다.
이후 서울시는 수 많은 논의와 협의 등을 거친 끝에 지난해 9월 최고 49층 높이의 업무·상업·주거시설이 어우러진 복합시설개발을 위한 지구단위계획 결정안을 발표했다.
광운대역 물류부지에는 상업·업무시설(1만9675㎡)을 비롯해 주거, 공공기숙사, 생활SOC시설 등이 들어설 예정으로, △자족기능 확보 △기반시설 확충 △열린공간 조성을 목표로 조성된다.
먼저, 협약을 통해 사업시행자인 HDC현대산업개발은 2028년까지 본사 이전을 적극적으로 추진하며, 개발사업 일부 보유 및 운영의 적극적 추진과 공공기여 계획을 성실하게 이행할 것을 약속한다.

광운대역 수도권광역급행철도(GTX)-C노선(2028년 예정) 및 월계역 동북권 경전철(2026년 예정) 개통, 동부간선도로 지하화 등을 통해 광역적 접근성과 효율성도 극대화된다.
