진주시, 한국폴리텍대학 개방형 체육공원 개장식 가져

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 28일 한국폴리텍대학 진주캠퍼스 운동장에 ‘한국폴리텍대학 개방형 체육공원’개장식을 가졌다.

이날 개장식은 조규일 진주시장, 진주시의원, 진주시 체육회장, 한국폴리텍대학 진주캠퍼스 학장, 재학생 및 하대동민 등 약 200여 명의 시민이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

이번 개방형 체육공원은 진주시와 한국폴리텍대학 진주캠퍼스가 맺은 상생발전 업무 협약의 일환으로 재학생과 지역주민들의 여가활동을 위해 사업비 8억원을 들여 조성됐다.

체육공원은 부지면적 4,425㎡에 다목적구장, 농구장, 족구장, 트랙, 맨발걷기, 운동기구 등 다양한 체육시설이 설치됐다.

특히 최근 중장년층 사이에서 유행하는 맨발걷기를 조성해 많은 시민들이 이용할 것으로 예상되며, 쉼터, 야외화장실, 음수대, 간이세족시설 등 편의시설도 조성됐다.

조규일 진주시장은 “체육공원에서 학생들과 주민들이 운동을 통해 스트레스를 해소하고 건강을 지키며, 대학과 지역주민들의 소통과 화합의 장이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
