윤석열 대통령이 5일 "아프리카 주요국과 '핵심광물 파트너십' 구축과 복수국 간 협의체 '핵심광물안보파트너십'(MSP)을 통해 상호 호혜적 자원협력이 확대되길 바란다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오전 서울 중구 롯데호텔에서 열린 '2024 한·아프리카 비즈니스 서밋' 기조연설에서 "최근 지정학적 리스크로 글로벌 공급망 불확실성이 커지면서 아프리카 역할이 크게 주목받고 있다"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "아프리카 6개국과의 수교로 시작된 한·아프리카 협력이 올해로 63년째를 맞았다"며 "경제인 기업가 정신이 한·아프리카 파트너십의 소중한 밑거름이 됐다"고 말했다.
또 "14억명 넘는 인구·풍부한 천연자원·경제발전에 대한 아프리카 열망이 아프리카 성장 원동력"이라며 한·아프리카 공동번영을 위한 경제협력 방안을 제시했다.
이어 "우선 교역·투자를 획기적으로 늘려 한·아프리카 경제적 거리를 좁혀야 한다"며 "기업들이 원활히 교역·투자 활동에 나설 수 있도록 경제동반자협정(EPA)·무역투자촉진프레임워크(TIPF)를 체결해 제도적 기반부터 다지겠다"고 말했다.
더불어 "기후변화 역시 모두가 당면한 문제로 기후변화 해결을 위한 원전·태양광·수소 등과 같은 무탄소에너지(CFE)로 전환이 필수적"이라며 "에너지 전환을 위한 한국 기업과의 협력이 확대되길 기대한다"고 말했다.
윤 대통령은 "아프리카 역내 격차 해소를 위해 함께 힘모아야 한다"며 "공적개발원조(ODA) 수원국 수요에 맞는 맞춤형 개발 협력을 추진해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
