[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 남해군에 또 하나의 ‘캠핑 명소’가 탄생했다.
호수 같은 강진만의 아늑한 정취와 포근함을 선사하는 이동면의 지세가 어우러지는 곳에 ‘남해 에코촌 캠핑장’이 문을 열었다.
남해군의 생태관광 도시 육성 전략에 새로운 활력소가 될 것으로 기대된다.
남해군은 남해에코촌 캠핑장 개장식을 지난달 28일 개최했다.
이 자리에는 장충남 남해군수를 비롯해 임태식 군의회 의장 및 군의원, 류경완 도의원, 그리고 이동면 기관단체장과 지역주민 등 50여명이 참석했다.
남해군의 새로운 관광명소로 주목받을 것으로 기대되는 남해에코촌 캠핑장은 카라반 7대, 카라반 사이트 8면, 오토캠핑 사이트 22면 등 총 37개의 캠핑공간을 갖추고 있다.
또한 어린이물놀이장, 수영장, 자연놀이터, 자전거 대여소, 불멍존 등 부대시설을 비롯해 매점, 샤워장, 취사장 등의 편의시설이 조성됐다.
또한 효율적이고 체계적인 운영·관리를 위해 지난 5월 사용 허가자 입찰공고를 진행해 6월 24일 최종적으로 김선혜 대표를 남해에코촌 캠핑장 운영자로 선정했다.
장충남 남해군수는 “남해에코촌 캠핑장이라는 반짝이는 이름표가 더해지면서10만 생태관광도시로의 비상을 꿈꾸고 있는 우리 남해군에 또 하나의 희망의 꽃이 피어난 것 같다”며 “지역 캠핑문화 활성화와 이에 따른 관련 분야의 활력을 도모하는 전기가 마련될 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
한편 남해군은 2018년부터 총 106억원의 사업비를 투입해 남해에코촌 조성사업을 추진해, 부지매입, 무림간사지 매립·성토 등 기반공사, 캠핑장 및 생태공원 조성 등을 추진해 올해 3월 사업준공을 했다.
