[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 거창군은 거창창포원이 경상남도 대표 생태관광지에 재지정됐다고 4일 밝혔다.
경상남도 대표 생태관광지는 생태관광을 활성화하고 주민 소득을 창출하기 위해 지정하는 관광지로 창포원은 2021년 최초 지정 이후 2024년도에 재지정되어 향후 3년 동안 생태체험 프로그램 운영과 홍보를 위한 재정적 지원을 받을 수 있다.
거창창포원은 더 많은 사람에게 생태 관광의 기회를 제공하기 위해 △마음정원 가꾸기 △생태탐방 프로그램 △나는야 꼬마정원사 등 다양한 체험프로그램을 운영하고 있으며 겨울에는 △겨울 철새 탐방을 운영할 계획이다.
또한 생태환경을 보전하기 위해 2024년 하반기까지 3억 5,000만원을 들여 천연기념물 330호인 수달 서식처를 조성할 예정이다.
구인모 군수는 “이번 도 대표 생태관광지 재지정은 거창창포원이 그동안 황강의 수질을 보전하고 자연생태 복원에 힘썼다는 증표”며 “이번 재지정으로 국가정원으로 향하는 길에 한 발짝 더 다가서서 기쁘다”고 말했다.
한편 2024년에는 거창 창포원 외에도 △합천 정양늪 △고성 마동호 2곳이 도 대표 생태관광지로 지정됐다.
