이번 행사는 울진 원자력수소 국가산단의 예타면제 확정을 기념하고, 원자력수소 산업의 비전과 방향을 전 군민과 공유하고자 마련됐다.
울진군은 민선8기 취임과 동시에 ‘울진 국가산단’을 추진하여 비송전 전력을 활용한 수소생산 전략, 선제적인 입주기업 확보 등을 통해 2023년 3월 후보지로 선정됐다.
이후 지난 6월 28일 예타면제가 확정되면서 국가산단 착공까지 행정절차 기간을 단축할 수 있게됐다.
