브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 유원골프재단은 전북, 제주 지역 청소년 골프 유망주 총 48명에게 장학금 9000만 원을 전달했다고 26일 밝혔다.
유원골프재단이 올해로 14년째 운영 중인 ‘골프 꿈나무 장학사업’은 골프 유망주들이 골프에 전념할 수 있는 환경을 조성해 선수들이 가진 기량과 잠재력을 발휘할 수 있도록 돕기 위한 장학제도다. 올해는 전북과 제주 지역의 초등부 12명, 중등부 18명, 고등부 18명 등 총 48명의 골프 꿈나무가 장학생으로 선발됐다.
골프 꿈나무 장학생은 지역별 두 대회의 합산 성적으로 선발됐다. 전북 지역은 △제38회 전북특별자치도골프협회장배 아마추어골프선수권대회(4/8~4/9) △제19회 전북특별자치도교육감배 학생골프선수권대회(7/22~7/23), 제주 지역은 △2024 제주특별자치도골프협회장배 전도주니어골프선수권대회(3/27~3/28) △2024 골프존카운티 오라배 전도주니어골프선수권대회(7/8~7/9)가 진행됐으며, 그 결과 전북 26명, 제주 22명의 장학생이 선발됐다.
유원골프재단 김영찬 이사장은 “골프 유망주들의 꿈과 열정을 위해 지속적으로 골프 꿈나무 장학사업을 운영하고 있다. 우리 선수들의 노력이 결실을 맺는 모습을 볼 때 큰 보람을 느낀다”며 “앞으로도 골프 인재 발굴 및 육성을 위해 다양한 사회공헌활동을 실천하며 나눔 경영을 펼칠 계획이다”고 전했다.
한편, 유원골프재단은 골프존뉴딘그룹의 사회공헌 활동 ‘Swing Your Dream’의 일환으로 △프로 골프 선수 발굴 및 후원 △차세대 골프 지도자 양성 △글로벌 골프산업 육성 등을 운영하며 골프 산업 발전에 앞장서고 있다.
