브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= KCC글라스는 지난 29일과 30일 양일간 새롭게 개소한 아동복지시설인 ‘홈씨씨교실’ 6호점과 7호점 이용 아동들을 대상으로 멘토링 교육 프로그램을 진행했다고 31일 밝혔다.
멘토링 교육 프로그램은 KCC글라스의 대표적인 사회공헌 사업인 홈씨씨교실의 일환이다. 홈씨씨교실은 인테리어 전문 브랜드인 ‘홈씨씨 인테리어’의 노하우를 활용해 낡은 아동복지시설을 안전하고 쾌적한 교육 공간으로 리모델링하는 사업으로, 시설 리모델링과 함께 이용 아동들에게 다양한 교육의 기회도 제공한다.
KCC글라스는 올해 ‘홈씨씨 인테리어 수원점’ 개장을 맞아 수원시 권선구에 위치한 ‘무지개행복한홈스쿨 지역아동센터’와, ‘희망지역아동센터’에 각각 홈씨씨교실 6호점과 7호점을 개소한 바 있다. 이번 프로그램은 해당 시설 이용 아동 60여명을 대상으로 홈씨씨 인테리어 수원점에서 진행됐다.
참여 아동들은 전문 강사와 함께 미래 산업 기술로 주목받고 있는 3D프린팅 기술이 건축 및 인테리어 분야에 어떻게 활용되고 있는지를 살펴보고 3D펜을 활용해 직접 건축물과 가구 모형 등을 만들어 보는 특별한 체험활동의 기회를 가졌다.
또한, 체험활동에 앞서서는 홈씨씨 인테리어 수원점을 둘러보며 다양한 인테리어 자재에 대해 알아보는 시간도 마련됐다. 프로그램에는 전문 강사 외에도 KCC글라스 임직원이 멘토로 참여해 아동들의 원활한 교육을 도왔다.
KCC글라스 관계자는 “아동들이 건축과 인테리어에 대한 관심과 상상력을 키우는 유익한 시간을 보낸 것 같아 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 KCC글라스는 미래 시대의 주역인 아동들이 꿈과 희망을 품고 성장하는 데 도움이 될 수 있도록 다양한 노력을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
