대통령실이 28일 정부가 내놓은 현 의대 증원 계획안을 그대로 추진하겠다는 입장을 재확인시켰다.
대통령실 관계자는 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 취재진과 만나 "의료 개혁 관련 대통령실 입장은 일관되고 변함없다"고 전했다.
또 한동훈 국민의 힘 대표가 제안한 2026년 의대 정원 증원 유예 관련해서도 "현 입장에 변함없다"며 고려 불가 방침을 확인했다.
더불어 일각서 제기된 박민수 보건복지부 제2차관 교체설에 대해 "전혀 검토한 바 없다"고 밝혔다.
이는 이날 오전 공지된 윤석열 대통령과 여당 지도부 간 만찬 연기 소식이 의대 증원에서 비롯된 의정 갈등 해법을 두고 대통령실과 한 대표 간 엇박자를 보인 가운데 나온 것이란 시각 불식 차원으로 보인다.
한편 29일 예정된 국민의 힘 의원 연찬회엔 대통령실 정무수석·사회수석 등 참모들과 보건복지부 장·차관들이 참석해 정부 의료 개혁 추진 방향을 설명하고 질의응답 시간을 갖는다.
