[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 상봉지구가 2024년 국토교통부가 주관하는 도시재생사업 ‘우리동네살리기’ 공모사업에 최종 선정됐다고 2일 밝혔다.
상봉지구는 전국 최종 10개 선정 지구에 포함돼 오는 2025년부터 2028년까지 4년간 국비 50억원, 도비 6억원 등 사업비 83억원을 확보해 연차적으로 사업을 추진하게 된다.
사업 대상지인 상봉지구는 서봉지공원 일원 약 7만4000㎡로 노후주택 및 골목길 정비, 빈집 정비, 문화 및 생활서비스 지원 등 주거환경 개선에 초점을 맞춰 사업을 진행할 예정이다.
세부적으로는 좁은 골목길 경관 개선과 노후주택 집수리, 빈집 철거, 가능한 커뮤니티 케어센터 조성, 봉황 힐링로드 보행환경 개선 등을 추진하게 된다.
조규일 진주시장은 “상봉지구는 봉황의 전설이 깃든 마을로 공원 조성사업이 추진되고 있다”며“이번 도시재생사업이 진행되면 주민의 삶은 한층 나아질 것으로 기대된다”며 말했다.
한편 진주시는 상봉지구의 공모사업 선정을 위해 도시재생 예비사업과 도시재생대학 운영 등 주민역량 강화를 위한 활동을 통해 주민들과 함께 지역문제를 발굴하고 계획했다.
