브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회가 창립 제75주년을 맞아 지난 26일 과천 본장에서 기념행사를 열고 새로운 도약을 위한 혁신의지를 다졌다.
한국마사회의 역사는 1922년 지금의 서부이촌동 부근 한강변을 무대로 경마를 선보였던 ‘조선경마구락부’로 시작된다. ‘조선경마구락부’는 1942년 ‘조선마사회’로 재탄생했고, 1949년 9월 29일 지금과 같이 ‘한국마사회’로 개칭돼 역사를 이어오고 있다.
한국마사회의 창립 제75주년을 기념하기 위해 열린 기념행사에는 한국마사회 임직원 및 마주·조교사·기수·경주마생산자 등 유관단체 관계자를 비롯해 전국농민회총연맹 하원오 의장, 한국농축산연합회 이승호 회장 등 농축산업 주요 인사들이 참석했다.
한국마사회 정기환 회장은 기념사를 통해 “그간의 어려움을 이겨내고 온라인 마권발매를 정식 시행하는 등 도약의 기회를 만들어낸 임직원의 노고에 감사하고, 이를 위해 함께 노력해준 유관단체에도 깊은 감사를 전한다”며 “한국마사회가 75주년을 넘어 100년 이상의 미래를 맞이하기 위한 단초는 끝없는 도전과 혁신을 통한 글로벌 경쟁력 확보에 있다”고 말했다.
