4일 광명역자이타워에서 박승원 광명시장, 이재정 대한적십자사 경기도지사 회장을 비롯해 대한적십자사봉사회 광명지구협의회 봉사회원 등 50여 명의 지역 인사들이 참석했다.
기념식은 공식 기념행사와 명예지부회장 위촉패 전달, 광명시지부 회장 및 운영위원 위촉장 전달, 현판 제막 순으로 진행됐다.
대한적십자사 경기지사는 대한적십자사 창립 119년 만에 최초로 시군 단위 조직인 대한적십자사 광명시지부를 운영하여 지역 내 인도주의 확산과 사회적 통합을 이루는 기반을 구축했다고 설명했다.
광명시지부 초대 지부회장은 이광수 전(前) 대한적십자사봉사회 광명시지구협의회 회장을 위촉했다. 아울러 박승원 광명시장을 명예 지부회장으로 위촉했다.
이에 박승원 광명시장은 “명예회장으로 위촉되어 영광이며, 막중한 책임을 느낀다”며 “광명 내 기업, 소상공인, 시민, 수혜자가 모두가 상생할 수 있는 민관협력 플랫폼이 구축되도록 대한적십자사와 적극 협력하겠다”고 말했다.
이재정 대한적십자사 경기도지사 회장은 “광명시가 적십자사의 새로운 역사에 함께 해주어서 감사하다”며 “광명시지부 운영이 모범사례가 되어 앞으로 전국으로 지부가 확산하길 바란다”고 전했다.
이광수 대한적십자사 광명시지부 회장은 취임사에서 “초대 지부회장으로 어깨가 무겁고 아무도 가지 않은 길을 개척해야 하는 어려움이 예상되지만, 광명시와 대한적십자사의 명예에 누가 되지 않도록 모범적으로 광명시지부를 운영해 나가겠다”며 소감을 밝혔다.
