[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시의회가 특례시 지원 특별법 제정을 위한 국회 정책토론회에 참석했다.
14일 국회도서관 강당에서 특례시 국회의원 22인이 공동 주최하고, 대한민국특례시시장협의회와 한국지방자치학회의 공동 주관으로 열렸다. 유진선 의장을 비롯해 이윤미 의회운영위원장, 박희정 의원, 이상욱 의원, 이상일 시장, 특례시 국회의원, 특례시의회 의장 등 200여 명이 참석했다.
1부에서는 개회 및 내빈소개, 축사, 환영사 등이 있었으며, 2부에서는 특례시 법적 지위 확보 및 사무 이양, 특례시 재정 특례 강화, 특례시 지원 특별법 제정 방안 연구 등에 대한 발제가 진행됐다. 이후 종합토론이 이어졌다.
유진선 의장은 “특례시 지원 특별법 제정은 특례시의 발전을 위한 제도적 기반을 갖출 수 있는 시작이라고 할 수 있다. 이번 토론회를 계기로 지방분권이 한 단계 더 성장할 수 있는 기회가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
