화성시의회, 특례시 지원 특별법 국회 정책토론회 참석

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=화성 이현준기자] 화성시의회는 '특례시 지원 특별법 제정'을 위한 국회 정책토론회에 참석했다.

10월 14일 국회도서관 강당에서 화성시의회 배정수 의장을 비롯해 김경희, 배현경 의원이 이번 정책토론회에 참석해 화성시의 100만 특례시 발전을 위한 지원방안을 적극 모색했다.

배정수 의장은 인사말을 통해 “100만 특례시 지원 특별법 제정을 통해 시민들에게 더욱 나은 행정 서비스가 이루어지길 바라며, 시민들이 복지, 문화, 예술 등의 실질적인 혜택을 누리는데 화성시의회가 큰 역할을 할 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 전했다.

이번 토론회는 화성시 및 특례시 국회의원 22명이 공동주최하며, 대한민국특례시시장협의회와 한국지방자치학회가 공동주관하고, 행정안전부와 대통령직속지방시대위원회, 수원·용인·고양·창원 특례시 및 화성시가 후원한다. 정부 및 국회 관계자, 화성시 및 특례시 시장과 시의회 의장, 시의원, 관계 공무원, 시민 등이 참석하여 특례시 지원 특별법 제정의 필요성을 심도 있게 논의했다.
