[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시는 신갈오거리 스마트 도시재생사업의 일환으로 신갈 제1공영주차장(기흥구 갈천로 7번길 69)에 캔 수거가 가능한 순환자원 회수로봇을 추가로 설치했다.
지난 2022년 신갈동 주민자치센터 입구에 2대를 설치하고 지난 3월에 관곡어린이공원에 2대를 설치한 데 이어 총 6대로 늘어났다.
이번에 설치한 순환자원 회수로봇은 구갈동과 상갈동 등 인근지역 주민 모두가 이용하기 편리한 신갈천 산책로변에 추가 설치됐다.
순환자원 회수로봇은 물체 인식 시스템을 갖춰 라벨이 제거된 투명 페트병만 선별해 수거한다. 캔류는 무게감지 센서를 통해 내용물이 완전히 비워진 캔만 수거한다. 이용자에게는 포인트를 적립해 현금으로 되돌려준다.
순환자원 회수로봇은 투명 페트병과 캔 1개당 10포인트씩 적립되며, 1인당 하루 최대 50개까지 투입할 수 있다. 2,000포인트 이상 쌓이면 이용자 계좌로 지급받을 수 있다.
올해 1월부터 9월 말까지 신갈동 일원에 설치된 순환자원 회수로봇의 페트병 재활용량은 83만3472개, 1만6846여kg에 달한다. 기기를 사용한 이용자 수는 3478명이며 주민에게 환원된 포인트는 총 833만 4720원이다. 이는 지난해 재활용 실적 8,300여kg을 크게 상회하는 수준이다.
