[브레이크뉴스경기남부=성남 이현준기자] 신상진 성남시장은 멕시코시티에서 열리고 있는 ‘블룸버그 시티랩 2024’ 국제회의에 참석했다.
지난 14일 마테오 레포레 이탈리아 볼로냐 시장을 만나 두 도시의 교류 증진 및 상생발전 방안을 논의했다.
두 시장은 이날 오후 블룸버그 시티랩 개최 장소인 멕시코시티 인터컨티넨탈 프레지덴테 호텔에서 환담을 나누고 빅데이터와 인공지능(AI), 디지털트윈 등 첨단산업과 도시재생 분야의 교류를 활성화하기로 뜻을 모았다.
신 시장은 “볼로냐는 역사와 전통이 깊은 문화 및 산업 도시로, 최근 추진 중인 디지털트윈 프로젝트와 게임산업 육성을 비롯해 교육과 연구, 특히 대학 중심의 스타트업 육성 프로젝트가 매우 인상적”이라고 치하했다. 이어 “대한민국 4차산업의 핵심 클러스터인 성남시와 스마트시티, 교육, 문화교류, 기술혁신 등 다양한 분야의 교류를 한다면 두 도시 발전에 큰 시너지 효과 낼 것”이라고 기대했다.
레포레 시장은 “두 나라 첨단산업의 중심지인 성남과 볼로냐의 협력이 더욱 강화되기를 희망한다”면서 “성남의 무역사절단과 함께 볼로냐에 와 달라”고 신 시장을 공식 초청했다.
이탈리아 북부 에밀리아로냐주의 주도인 볼로냐시는 성남시와 2015년 우호협약을 체결한 국제교류 도시로 인구 39만여 명, 면적 140㎢이다.
