권기식 한중도시우호협회장(서울미디어대학원대학교 석좌교수)은 5일 오후 중국 상하이시 펑셴(奉賢)구 소재 상하이상학원(上海商學院ㆍShanghai Business School) 펑푸(奉浦) 캠퍼스 강의실에서 '한중 관계의 과거와 미래'라는 주제로 특강을 했다.
이날 특강에는 찐용(金勇) 상하이상학원 교수와 왕위디(王宇迪) 외국어대 학생회장 등 교수와 학생 200여명이 청강해 한중 관계에 큰 관심을 보였다.
권 회장은 "최근 한반도를 둘러싼 동북아 정세가 매우 불안정하다. 남북 관계는 파탄 직전이고, 한러 관계는 수교 이후 최악의 상황이다. 이러한 위기 상황에서 한반도의 평화와 안정을 위한 한중 협력이 매우 중요하다."고 말했다.
그는 또 "1992년 수교 이후 한중 관계는 동아시아 평화와 번영의 중심축으로 세계에서 가장 성공적인 교류 관계였다. 현재 양국 관계가 다소 어려운 부분이 있으나, 내년 이후 양국 관계는 호전 될 것으로 전망한다. 한중 양국은 상호 핵심이익을 존중하고, 한반도 정세 안정과 경제 협력을 위해 굳건하게 손을 잡아야 한다. 특히 내년도 한국에서 열리는 APEC에 시진핑 주석이 참석한다면 한중 관계 발전에 큰 도움이 될 것"이라고 강조했다.
그는 이어 "최근 단행된 한국에 대한 중국의 선제적인 비자 면제 조치에 대해 많은 한국인들이 환영하고 있으며, 향후 한국인들의 중국 방문이 크게 늘어날 것으로 보인다. 한국 정부도 상응하는 조치를 조속히 취해야 한다."고 주장했다.
권 회장은 특강 후 교수ㆍ학생들과 질의응답을 하며 한중 관계에 대해 열띤 토론을 벌였다.
권 회장은 전날 상하이 시내 한식당에서 상하이상학원 교수들과 만찬을 함께 하며 한중 대학교류 등에 대해 논의했다.
