[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 ‘2024년 대한민국 도시·지역혁신 산업박람회’의 도시·지역혁신대상 주거환경개선 분야 제안 공모에서 대상(국토교통부장관상)을 수상했다고 14일 밝혔다.
도시·지역혁신 산업박람회는 정부 도시혁신 정책과 국내외 도시혁신 우수사례를 알리고, 관련 분야 기업들의 성장·전문성 강화 등을 지원하기 위해 지난 2019년부터 매년 열려왔다.
올해는 도시엔 활력을, 지역엔 일자리를 이라는 주제로 13일부터 15일까지 대구광역시 북구 엑스코컨벤션센터에서 개최되고 있다.
이번 박람회에는 진주시를 비롯해 국토교통부와 전국의 지자체, 공공기관, 민간기업 등 170여 곳이 참여해 각 단체의 도시재생사업의 성과와 우수사례를 공유하고 있다.
진주시는 강남지구 도시재생사업 ‘뉴트로 강남, 물과 빛을 즐기자~!’를 주제로 우수사례를 발표했으며, 사업 추진에 높은 평가를 받아 개막식에서 대상 수상의 영광을 안았다.
강남지구 도시재생사업은 골목상권 개선과 청년머뭄센터, 주거지 외관 집수리 등의 주거지 개선과 마을 정주환경을 개선해 지속 가능한 도시재생사업을 목표로 추진되고 있다.
진주시 관계자는 “주민 중심의 지속가능한 도시재생사업 추진을 통해 지역쇠퇴 문제를 극복하고 활기찬 진주를 만들어 나갈 수 있도록 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다.
