Young Man Kang expressed his excitement: “It’s incredible to receive multiple nominations. However, alongside the joy, there’s a deep sadness. Shortly after the release of Prayer Panama, we were devastated to learn that Panamanian influencer Anita Correa, who appeared as a featured actress and played a crucial role in supporting our production in Panama City, passed away in the hospital. Her unwavering support helped make this film shine, and my heartfelt prayers go out to her.”

The production of Prayer Panama was a remarkable cross-cultural effort, with Young Man Kang traveling from Los Angeles, and Priscila Buiar from Brazil, while the rest of the cast and crew were local to Panama City. The shoot faced challenges, including unpredictable weather, but the final scene, captured just before the rain, featured a stunning backdrop of clouds, cityscape, and ocean—earning the nomination for Best Cinematography. The team was also supported by local communities, with a church and law office serving as excellent filming locations.
