[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시가 세종시 정부세종컨벤션센터에서 열린 2024년 지역먹거리 지수 시상식에서 평가 ‘A등급’을 달성해 우수상인 한국농수산식품유통공사 사장상을 수상했다고 5일 밝혔다.
지역 먹거리 지수는 농림축산식품부가 주최하고 한국농수산식품유통공사와 소비자시민모임이 주관해 전국 159개 지자체 대상으로 지역 먹거리 관련 17개 지표를 평가한다.
김해시는 평가가 시행된 2020년부터 5년 연속 영남권 최고등급을 유지해 오고 있다.
작년에는 영남권 최초로 A등급으로 우수상을 받아 지역먹거리 계획에 따른 정책 추진사항을 인정 받았다.
금년 또한 ‘A등급 우수상’을 평가받아 지역먹거리 정책 수행 선진지자체로 인정받았다.
시는 2014년부터 관내 학교에 지역 먹거리를 공급하고 있던 김해시먹거리통합지원센터를 확장 신축해 지난 11월에 개소식을 실시했으며 2021년부터 김해시 농촌 신활력플러스 사업을 통해 시 직영 로컬푸드 직매장을 운영해 로컬푸드 공급 확대에 힘쓰고 있다.
또한, 2021년부터 2기에 걸쳐 민-관이 함께 김해시먹거리보장시민위원회를 구성해 김해시 먹거리정책 발전을 위해 힘쓰고 있다.
시 관계자는 “민-관이 함께 먹거리정책을 추진하며 5년 연속 영남권 최고등급이라는 성과를 얻어낼 수 있었다 농업인과 도시민이 상생할 수 있는 지역 먹거리 선순환체계 구축을 위해 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.
