[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 전국체전을 비롯한 각종 대형 행사들을 성공적으로 치러내며 김해라는 브랜드를 국내외에 널리 알린 의미 있는 한 해를 보냈다.
특히 봉사, 참여, 질서 등 성숙한 시민의식에서 비롯된 이러한 성과는 ‘할 수 있다’는 시민 자긍심으로 이어져 지속가능한 도시 발전에 긍정적인 요인으로 작용할 전망이다.
이뿐 아니라 올 한해 시는 어려운 대내외 여건 속에서도 시민 생활과 밀접한 다양한 분야에서 시민에게 다가서는 크고 작은 성과를 거뒀다.
무엇보다 지역경제 생산성을 높이는 일에 매진했다.
시는 물류, 모빌리티 등 전략산업 분야 국가 공모사업 5건을 유치해 국비 1,201억원을 확보, 지역 전략산업 발전을 촉진해 나간다.
김해강소연구개발특구 2단계 사업 선정으로 200억원을 확보해 내년부터 2029년까지 디지털 헬스케어 중심의 2단계 사업을 추진한다.
또 미래자동차 클러스터의 시작점으로 시제품 개발과 제작을 지원하는 버추얼센터 완공을 조만간 앞두고 있으며 디지털무역종합지원센터를 유치, 개소해 지역 수출을 촉진해 나가고 있다.

환경 분야 성적도 좋다.
이미 플라스틱 조화 사용금지와 장례식장 다회용기 사용으로 전국적인 주목을 받고 있는 시는 올해 친환경 현수막 사용 활성화로 제13회 대한민국 지식대상 대통령상을 수상했다.
여기에 환경부 주관 환경교육도시, 제11회 그린시티, 탄소중립포인트제 운영 최우수 지자체로 선정됐으며 지난 9월 전국 첫 탄소중립 교육체험시설인 탄소중립체험관을 준공해 탄소중립 실천에 가속도가 붙을 전망이다.
시는 올 한해 국내외 큰 관심을 받았던 동아시아문화도시, 김해방문의 해와 국내 최대 스포츠축제 전국체전 주 개최지로서 개·폐막식 등을 잘 치러냈다.
역대 최대 규모로 치러진 체전 개회식 때 교통대란이 없었고 계획 인원을 훨씬 초과한 자원봉사자와 시민서포터즈의 자발적 참여는 김해시민의 수준을 잘 보여줬다.
시는 한국 동아시아문화도시로서 중국, 일본과 다채로운 문화행사로 교류했으며 이는 중국 다롄시와의 우호교류 협약을 체결하는 성과로 이어졌다.
또 김해방문의 해로 풍성한 문화관광프로그램을 선보이며 작년보다 100만명 늘어난 350만명 방문객을 유치했다.
시민 안전과 보건·복지에도 힘써 행정안전부 주관 2024 재난관리평가 우수기관 선정과 함께 2024 자연재해 안전도 진단에서는 2년 연속 A등급을 획득하며 전국 최고 수준의 재난관리 역량을 입증했다.
시민의 심뇌혈관질환 예방관리를 담당할 당뇨병센터를 개소했으며 경남 최초 보건복지부 아동치과주치의 시범사업 공모에 선정돼 예방 중심 구강관리서비스를 제공한다.

행정 분야도 눈에 띈다.
