브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 말과 사람의 ‘동행’을 주제로 한국마사회가 시행한 ‘제27회 말 사진 공모전’의 최종 수상작 35점이 발표됐다.
지난 13일 렛츠런파크 서울에서는 제27회 말 사진 공모전 시상식과 말박물관 기획전시실에서 수상 작품들이 대중에게 첫 선을 보였다.
한국마사회 말 사진 공모전은 ‘말’을 소재로 하는 국내 유일의 사진 공모전으로, 1979년 시작돼 올해로 27회 차를 맞이했다. 올해 공모전은 말 복지 증진과 동물복지 인식 확산을 위해 ‘동행’을 주제로 시행됐다.
대한민국 국민이라면 누구나 참여할 수 있었던 이번 말 사진 공모전에는 10월 한 달 동안 총 1938점의 작품들이 접수됐다. 접수된 작품들은 사진작가, 교수, 사진기자 등 내외 전문가들의 공정한 심사를 거쳤으며 총 35점이 최종 수상했다.
400만원의 상금이 주어지는 대상에는 최방원 작가의 ‘동행’ 작품이 선정됐다. ‘동행’은 여인과 말이 멀지도 가깝지도 않은 거리를 유지하며 유유히 걷고 있는 뒷모습을 담은 흑백사진이다.
우수상에는 배영진 작가의 ‘말과의 교감’ 작품이 선정됐다. 안장도 없는 말에 올라 고삐대신 갈기를 움켜쥔 어린 소녀와, 그 곁을 따라온 새끼 망아지가 조화를 이루는 ‘말과의 교감’ 작품은 보는 이로 하여금 사람과 말의 동반 관계를 넘은 깊은 유대감을 전해준다.
동물복지 요소가 특별히 잘 표현된 작품에게 주어지는 ‘말복지 특별상’에는 김명선 작가의 ‘수고했어’, 장채원 작가의 ‘말과의 교감’, 허선이 작가의 ‘애마는 샤워중!’ 작품이 선정됐다. 세 작품은 촬영자의 훌륭한 테크닉 뿐만 아니라 말을 사랑하고 아끼는 따뜻한 감정을 담아냈다는 평을 받는다.
이 밖에도 디지털카메라로 촬영된 15개 작품과 스마트폰으로 촬영된 15개의 작품이 입선으로 선정돼 전시를 통해 선보인다.
한국마사회 정기환 회장은 “여느 때보다 동물복지에 대한 인식이 높아지는 요즘, 말을 사랑하는 마음을 담은 공모전 당선작들은 백 마디 말보다 강력한 힘으로 우리 사회에 동물복지 문화를 뿌리내리는 자양분이 되어줄 것이라 생각한다”고 전했다.
한편, 이번 전시는 2025년 1월 12일까지 한국마사회 말박물관 기획전시실에서 열리며 이후 지방사업장과 장외발매소에서 순회전시가 이어진다.
