충남 서산시의회가 2일 서산시의회 본회의장에서 ‘2025년 서산시의회 시무식’을 갖고 올해 본격적인 업무에 들어갔다.
이날 시무식은 조동식 의장을 비롯한 의원들과 의회사무국 직원 등 40여 명이 참석한 가운데, 무안공항 여객기 참사 희생자와 유가족, 그리고 고파도 차도선 전복 사고에 대한 애도의 시간을 시작으로 조동식 의장의 신년사, 사진촬영, 의원과 직원 간 새해 인사순으로 진행했다.
조동식 의장은 시무식 신년사에서 “역대 세 번째 국가 애도 기간을 맞이하여, 차분하고 엄숙한 분위기 속에 새해를 시작했다”며, “시민의 복지증진과 삶의 질 향상을 위해 쉼 없이 달려왔지만 이제 1년 반 남짓 남은 기간은 의정활동의 참된 결실을 맺어야 하는 중요한 시기”라고 말했다.
이어“집행부와의 건전한 견제와 소통이 가능해지고, 시민의 목소리를 대변하는 의회의 목소리도 더 큰 신뢰를 얻을 수 있을 것”이라고 강조했다.
한편 제9대 서산시의회는 ‘시민과 함께하는 따뜻한 서산시의회’ 슬로건과 함께 오는 1월 20일 제301회 임시회를 시작으로 올해 정례회 2회, 임시회 7회 등 총 9회의 의사 일정을 진행할 계획이다.
