최근, 윤석열 대통령지지가 45%를 돌파하는 여론조사 결과가 나왔다. 어리둥절하기만 하다. “추락하는 것은 날개가 있다!”, 이문열 소설가의 소설로 1990년 영화화 되었다. 비상계엄선포 전 20%대에 머물던 지지율이 내란 프레임에 갇힌 지금 이렇게 폭등하고 있다.
이 현상을 어떻게 설명해야 할까? 비상(飛翔)하는 것은 날개가 있다! 새로운 소설이 등장할 것만 같다.
이 추세라면 지지율 50%를 돌파하는 것도 시간문제다. 20~30대 젊은층과 수도권 주민들이 지지를 견인하고 있어 그런 전망을 가능케 한다.
여론의 변화는 물의 흐름과 같다. 폭풍이 잠시 물의 흐름을 흔들지만, 이내 물은 순리대로 흐른다. 법(法)은 물이 흐른다는 뜻의 합성어다. 법은 곧 물이고 여론이며 상식이다.
더불어민주당은 이 여론의 변화를 부정할 것이 아니라 순종해야 한다. 상식을 벗어난 억지가 언제까지 통할 것인가! 지금이라도 민심의 흐름을 두려운 마음으로 받들기를 바란다. 순천자(順天者)는 흥(興)하고, 역천자(逆天者)는 망(亡)한다. 이는 불멸의 진리다!
